2016 Nottingham conference (1)- concerning the soul

The prior week had been crazy and I didn't feel like posting anything although I've been enjoying the Lord's supply and strengthening. Due to the busy schedule, I will just share a little bit everyday. A little goes a long way. :)

Anyways, praise the Lord that I made it to the Nottingham conference. There were so many points I enjoyed. First, our soul is very crucial because it is where our transformation takes place, and through soul we express God. Since I recently come back to Matthew for my bible study, I came across this verse:

He who finds his soul-life shall lose it, and he who loses his soul-life for My sake shall find it. (Matthew 10:39)

"Soul" doesn't look like something we appreciate. In the church life we always emphasise spirit. However, recently the humanity of Jesus becomes so fine and so dear to me during my bible reading time. He is just so attractive! The Lord approaches sinners in a very fine and lovely way. Even in this verse, soul is not something we should forsake, instead, we'll gain it back. Therefore, if we wanna be a person who is full of humanity, how can we ignore our soul? Moreover, our transformed soul can also be a channel to make the untouchable and glorious gospel so approachable to men. How wonderful!

In a Q&A session, one asked the question concerning our individual personality. The question, according to my memory, was "why we're created as different personalities if we're supposed to contain Christ?". Bro Ron said, the Lord expresses Himself through our personalities, too. He’s big and we as individuals are limited. It is through the different personalities God created, He can be fully expressed. So again, our soul is very crucial, too. Through it, we express Him (but of course the transformation needs to take place as well). That's the richness of the one new man.

Bro Ron also shared a little bit concerning himself (well I’ll keep this then). Indeed, I can sense there is a change in bro Ron. In a sense, I think he becomes more human and more like…a grandpa now :P
