Repent, be in reality, and produce many Timothys

This is basically a recap of what I had enjoyed yesterday.

A. Repent

Yesterday morning when I woke up, I had a sense of uneasiness. I felt that it was kinda stress concerning my dissertation. I called upon the Lord's name, and this thought shone on me. I'm not a person who's able to suffer, and that's why when I'm busy with my assignments or other work, I always feel stressed out and not happy. I'm also reminded that we Christians should have a mind of being willing to suffer. This has been revealed in 1 Peter 4:1,

"Since Christ therefore has suffered in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same mind (because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin),"

I had worked for a short while so I know that student life has been relatively easier. However, I still find myself  to have loads of moaning. Why I felt uneasy in the morning? Because my progress was slow and behind, and I felt mentally suffered and that was why I moan. I knew I had to work harder and I will eventually suffer physically. That was why I moan. I didn't want to suffer, or having the mind willing to suffer, that is my problem.

The footnote concerning "with the same mind" is also enjoyable.

One main purpose of this book is to encourage and exhort the believers to follow the footsteps of Christ in their suffering of persecution (1:6-7; 2:18-25; 3:8-17; 4:12-19). They should have the same mind that Christ had in His suffering (3:18-22). The main function of our mind is to understand and realize. To live a life that follows the footsteps of Christ, we need a renewed mind (Rom. 12:2) to understand and realize the way Christ lived to fulfill God's purpose.
With the realisation, I repented to the Lord. May I learn to follow the footsteps of Christ in my suffering in the flesh.

B. Guide us into all the reality

Enjoy the verse while studying.
But when He, the Spirit of reality, comes, He will guide you into all the reality; for He will not speak from Himself, but what He hears He will speak; and He will declare to you the things that are coming. (John 16:13).

My prayer: Lord, guide us into reality.

C. Produce many Timothys

During the evening after coming back from the library, I listened to the message in the Teachers' Training for the European Winter School of Truth- an open fellowship (listen here). The fellowship really enlightened me. I enjoyed that we, as serving ones, need to have a realisation that the young people in Europe are facing the crooked world situation. They need to be the ones who withstand the downward stream. They need to be the opposite testimony against the world. What Paul did to perfect Timothy was to bring him along to where Paul went and everything Paul did. This gave Timothy such an impression and had a pattern set before him to learn to live as a testimony against this age. Today, the vision and burden for caring the young people in Europe is, we have to help them be today's many Timothys.

I always like young people and children. After listening to the message, I prayed to the Lord that I could also take the burden to care for the young people in Europe. May He open the way.
